Hephaestus, the Greek god of fire and craftsmanship, was the son of Zeus and Hera. His siblings included Ares, the God of War, and Hebe, the goddess of youth, as well as Eileithyia, the goddess of childbirth. Hephaestus had several children, most notably Erichthonius, a legendary king of Athens, and the automaton Talos, a giant bronze figure.
