Is there an override code for a safe?

i have a joselph g. wasson safe..i'm in need of seeing what it is worth..my grandfather has owned it since 1930 he died in 1982..i have had it since then.. it is about 2' tall by 2' long and about 1' wide.. it's black in color and has gold writing on it.. the combination dial is made of brass..
