When did the olypices start?

The ancient Olympic Games began in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece. They were held in honor of Zeus and took place every four years, attracting athletes from various city-states. The modern Olympic Games were revived in 1896 by Pierre de Coubertin, with the first edition held in Athens, Greece.
