What are the structure of a government in a Caribbean territory?

The Caribs had a complicated organization to provide leadership in their warlike society. They had hereditary chiefs, nobles and priests, but military leaders were elected.

The ouboutou (or ubutu or obutu), or Great Captain, who was the commander in chief of all the warriors, was elected for his life. He was chosen for his prowess in battle and his great strength, and was treated with the utmost respect.
