Why do the Irish hate cromwell?

When he landed in Ireland in 1649 he just wanted to use Ireland for his personal gain.

The truth is actually distorted. Nobody really knows why. Several versions of theories from both English and Irish sides exist. It's one of the many truths that have been lost in history due to human's ability to lie and deceive.
