Scrying, or telling the future (fortune telling) has many forms. Tarot are not the only cards used to read the future. Many use an ordinary set of playing cards, or other sets made specifically for such use.
Crystal balls are just one of many surfaces used to scry. Mirrors, dark mirrors, bowls of water or oil, the flames of a fire, the surface of a pond all work.
Then there is palmistry, the reading of the hand using the lines, mounts, and shapes of the palm, fingers and fingernails.
Tasseology reading tea leaves or coffee grounds.
Handwriting analysis, which tells more about personality traits than the actual future.
Astrology, the study of the stars, their placement and movement throughout you life.
