What is saturated in science?

In science, saturated can refer to a solution in which no more solute can be dissolved, resulting in a state of equilibrium. It can also refer to organic compounds in which carbon atoms are connected by single bonds, thus maximizing the number of hydrogen atoms bonded to the carbon atoms.
