Not at all. Promethazine is helpful in reducing nausea. Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain medication found in Vicodin and a few other pills (Lortab and Norco are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head).

Simply put -- Hydrocodone will work best for you if you are suffering from either post-op pain or moderate-to-severe pain. It has a history of abuse and has a moderate risk of addiction.

Promethazine mainly helps with the nausea that can occur during post-op. It doesnt make you feel euphoric like Vicodin will, it's not a narcotic, so the chances of you becoming addicted to THIS medication is slim to none.
