Feudalism is a social and economic system that emerged in medieval Europe, characterized by the exchange of land for military service and labor. Under this system, a king grants large estates to nobles or lords, who, in return, provide military support and governance. These lords then grant smaller portions of their land to vassals or knights, who owe them loyalty and service.
