How does hades impact living people?

Hades was the god of the underworld and in his kingdom there were 3 places you could go. Elysium fields was a place for heros, Tartarus was a place for horrible people (they suffered for all eternity) and the Asphodel Meadows were for normal people who lived regular lives. Most people wanted to get into the Elysium fields because it was a wonderful place.

Also in his kingdom, the underworld, there was a ferry man (named Chiron) that you had to pay in order to get across the river Styx and get to your assigned place. So the Ancient Greek people, when they were buried, had a gold coin placed under their tongue so they could pay the ferry man.

If you didn't pay you just roamed around, waiting, for all of eternity (doesn't sound very fun).

So Hades influenced many customs in Ancient Greek civilization (also to the Ancient Romans who copied many Greek traditions and beliefs (Hades' Roman name is Pluto)).
