What is a griffin and a chimera?

A griffin/gryphon is a mythical creature with a lion's body and the wings of an eagle. It's eagle-features may extend to it including an eagle's head and front claws as well as just the wings.

A chimera/chimaera is rather ferociously a mixture between a lion (head), goat (body) and dragon (tail).
