How do you Determine Speed of an Object?

Speed = Distance ÷ Time

or s = d/t

For example, the speed of a car that traveled 40km in 30 minutes:

s = 40/30 minutes

s = 40/0.5 hours

s = 80km/h

Remember, if the time is given in minutes you must remember to convert this to hours by dividing the time by 60, e.g. 30 mins = 0.5 hours
