What are the advantages or disadvantages to racing a 24 inch bmx bike as opposed to a 20 inch bike?

Bigger wheels roll smoother over over obstacles, and they can give a "taller" gear, allowing for a higher top speed. But bigger wheels are weaker sideways, and heavier, so they take more effort to get going.
