Does azithromycin make you itch

I developed small red, slightly raised bumps all over my belly, chest, and back on day four of taking a Z- pak. By the end of the day they had spread to my upper arms and thighs. By the second day of rash (I had not taken my final dose of the z-pak per my doctor), it had spread down my legs, arms, and up my neck. It started itching a little, mostly on my arms and the soles of my feet. Rash day three was far worse. It had spread up my face and developed into splotchy raised red patches all over me, and itched slightly more. I went to Urgent Care and when they heard that Benadryl was having zero effect, I was prescribed steroid pills. Those helped almost immediately! I hope this description helps others, because I was completely panicked as to what I had.ive never reacted this way to a medication before, in over 30 years of my life.
