What is average us elevation?

The lowest point in the US is Badwater in Death Valley, CA at 282 feet below sea level.

The highest point is Mt MkKinley in Alaska at a height of 20, 320 feet above sea level.

Each state has it's own highest and lowest points, so it would be difficult at best to calculate an average elevation for the entire US.
