How many chapters of Fruits Basket are in the Anime?

26 episodes.

It stops at manga volume 6. What happened at the beginning of volume 6, is what happens in episode 26, though throughout volume 8 (and maybe 9) you meet some characters like Hiro and Ritsu, that you did meet in the anime, so they just put some of it out of order. so in the anime she knew Ritsu and Hiro when she ran after Kyo, in the manga she did not know of them yet.
