Would you pick up a hitchhiker?

If I know the person well enough to know they would never hurt me or anyone else, I would pick them up and take them wherever they wanna go. And I would drop them off wherever they wanna be dropped off. If I know the person is famous for stealing or hurting other people or is a man who's famous for raping women, I wouldn't pick them up. I wouldn't even slow down. If it's a total stranger, I wouldn't even slow down because I don't know if he/she will beat me, rob me, knock me out, rape me or kill me. By refusing to pick up a hitchhiker that I barely know, have a double personality or that I don't know at all, I would save my life.
