How was mount Cameroon formed?

Mount Cameroon was formed through volcanic activity, specifically through a series of eruptions that began over 3,000 years ago. As a stratovolcano, it has built up layers of lava, ash, and other volcanic materials from both explosive and effusive eruptions. Its location on the boundary of the African and South American tectonic plates contributes to its ongoing volcanic activity. Today, it stands as the highest peak in West Africa and is an active volcano with the most recent eruption occurring in 2012.
