Where did people back then gather?

People in the past gathered in a variety of places depending on the purpose of the gathering. Some of the most common places people gathered included:

• Public squares
• Community centers
• Churchyards
• Marketplaces
• Town halls
• Pubs or taverns

During the Middle Ages people would often gather for festivals fairs and markets which were held in public squares or in the town center. People would also meet in churches and monasteries for religious purposes and in pubs and taverns to socialize.
