In the Indian Parliament, a bill can be passed through several stages. It is introduced either in the Lok Sabha (House of the People) or the Rajya Sabha (Council of States) and goes through three readings in each house. During the readings, members debate the bill, and amendments can be proposed. Once a bill is approved by both houses, it is sent to the President for assent, after which it becomes law.
