Could a dog be 2 months and still cut the tail off?

Yes ~ But only if it is for a good reason and only buy a seasoned vet.

I have a 2yr old Giant Schnauzer which we choose from the breeder at 5 weeks of age and his tail was not cropped. After much debate and research we had his tail removed when he was neutered at the age of one. It was a long recovery for us more then him, as he wore a cone for what seemed like forever. At first the tail looked like it was cut off with side cutters and slip stitched together but as it healed it improved and now it is perfect. Only certain vets will do it and it again it depends on your reason and breed.
The surgery it expensive. We choose to have everything done at once while he was under anesthetic. He had double dew claws which were also removed, as well as a hernia repaired and with the tail doc, neuter and tattoo it was over 2k. Now we have a great dog and don't have to worry about him breaking his tail. ~Danraa.

I'm pretty sure it'd be ok,

but have a vet do it.

(to the last person: aye, dummy, you cut it off for several reasons. before you answer a question, do your research, it could save a dog's life.)

Because our dog is a Labrador and it giant tail and knocks everything around when she walks past anything and everything.
