Where did Luis Alvarez live most of his life?

Luis Alvarez lived most of his life in the United States, particularly in California. He was born in San Francisco in 1911 and spent a significant part of his career at the University of California, Berkeley. Throughout his life, he was also associated with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he conducted much of his groundbreaking research in physics.
