Why people don't practice sustainable practices?

Sustainable Energies are the practices that fulfill the needs of present generation, keeping in mind the requirement of the future without disturbing the environment. Our world is more dependent on conventional sources of energy like fossil fuels like coal and petroleum which is unsustainable practices. Hence it is difficult for us to dump all our current machines and start using sustainable practices.
