Why is portchester castle a good location for a castle?

It is a good location because it could get supplies like oak, stone and a little bit of flint from Pirtsdown Hill. Also it is on the top of the hill so enemies will have to climb up it to get there. It is near the harbour so it can attack easily. Thats about it.
