The high point in town looks to be the hill where the Cathedral and the Castle stand.

The land immediately to the west end of the Cathedral, along Minster Yard, is marked

on our maps as 72.8 meters above mean sea level, while the intersection of Union Rd,

Drury Lane, and Carline Rd, just southwest of the Castle and about 380 meters distant

from the point at the Cathedral, is marked as 55.8 meters AMSL .

Away from the hill, we see a large intersection near the Lincoln College, where Monks Rd

(the B1308), Silver St, and Lindum Rd (the A15) all meet. That junction stands only

20.4 meters above mean sea level.

As you can see, the elevation of the topography does vary somewhat at different

points about the town.
