Because of the allegation, an inquiry or investigation will be conducted. If no evidence of abuse is found, no charges will be placed.

Id like to add that, and this is from first hand personal experience of a false accusation, that evidence of abuse does include heresay evidence and there is no time limit from alleged abuse. REPEAT. The grand jury will indict you no matter how long the supposed "victim" has waited to report the abuse. So while your in jail watching your life be destroyed and your name and reputation slandered beyond all recovery, not to mention all the psychological trauma that you will forever live with, time too will turn against you making things like DNA and alibis ect disappear giving you virtually no way to defend yourself against the malicious attack that those state prosecutors and investigators will be vigorously persuing courtroom. Trust me, i know this, a grand jury will indict you, a jury will convict you, all with no evidence whatsoever. The reason behind that is the simple fact that people would rather make a mistake and send an accused stranger to prison for the rest of his life than make a mistake and let a guilty person go. Again with only heresay evidence. "I just remembered Jim touched me 20 years ago when I was 2" Best advice, get a good lawyer immediatly, preferably one who specializes in this area. Be prepared to spend alot of money. My lawyer was 50000 k just to retain the man. Hang in there and place your trust in the truth. I am.
