In the first century CE, nearly all the peoples of the Middle East spoke Greek as their everyday language, except the Jews, who spoke Aramaic. Because everyone else spoke Greek, it became Jewish practice to refer to others as 'Greeks' regardless of their ethnic background. So, both gospels are right - the Canaanites of coastal Palestine were also called Greeks.
