Can you upload your text messages onto your computer when you are switching phones?

Most phones come with cables and software that allow you to back up all personal data onto PC. The texts can usually be converted to .txt files and then re-converted for installation onto your new phone. Either that or just ask your local dealer to do it for you (saves A LOT of hassle)
