Square roots, like sqrt(2), are Irrational Numbers. This means that they CANNOT be written as a ratio of two integers. All other real numbers can be written a s a ratio of two integers (for example,
5 is 5/1
0.33333... is 1/3
etc.
But, sqrt(2) cannot be written as something over something.
As a decimal, square roots never end and NEVER repeat.
