Due to the influence of modern media, residents of Sparti today listen to roughly the same music as people in other parts of Greece. Popular music is similar to other western countries, with about two-thirds of the pop songs being in English. Currently (October 2012), the Top 20 in Greece includes "Call Me Maybe" and "Somebody That I Used to Know", as well as "Πόσες χιλιάδες καλοκαίρια" ("Poses Xiliades Kalokeria").
