What is an example of a lai poem?

A lai poem is a lyric poem that flourished in 12th century France. Consisting of five syllable couplets separated by a two syllable line. Each stanza consisting of 9 lines. Here is an example. Hidden Pain by Catherine Wilson. For years, I have tried to hide pain inside of me. Call it stubborn pride. Really I've denied the plea. Strong on the outside my heart truly cried a sea.
