Yes, in many places if you install solar panels on your home you can sell any excess electricity that you don't use back to the power company (if you are still hooked up to the electricity grid). This often done by people who supplement their electricity needs with solar panels. During the day, they make more electricity than they need, and they sell it back to the power company.
