Why is the Philippines a weak state?

into a far weaker one

In 2012 $1.8 billion worth of money was approved for the initial

modernization of the Philippine military

It was 10x higher than that of the annual expenditure for

modernization of the military in the past 10 years.

In 2013 Feb The Philippine Department of National Defense

Approved the acquisition for 12 Trainer/ Light fighter jets to be acquired

from South Korea.

The reason why Philippines is a weak state aside from massive corruption

is that the past regimes have significantly neglected the

Armed Forces.
