What happened to Peter and Paul when they preached the bible?

They were both persecuted and eventually executed in Rome for being Christians.

Paul was beheaded and Peter (the first Bishop of Rome) was crucified upside-down (he was crucified upside down because he stated that he was not worthy to die in the same manner as Jesus).
