No. The Word gay means exuberant and fun-loving, festive and colorful. As an in-group term for homosexual, it became common in the 1950's, and entered the main stream vocabulary in the '60's. Since then the slang usage has all but extinguished the real meaning. In either case, though, neither the real Word nor the slang term applies particularly to white people.
