In what ways did the reform movement of the mid 19th century affect the lives of womenboth white and black both free and enslaved?

In Europe, it didn't. Women were still not allowed in the work force and was still expected to maintain the house hold as the men went off to work 12 plus hours a day. Women in the United States during and after the civil war where started to be allowed in the medical field besides being common nurses. During this time, the first women graduated from medical school however women were still not allowed to vote. Enslaved women and women of color had absolutely no rights in any regard. Blacks in the Antebellum South which is the time period before the Civil War weren't even considered to be humans but property. Sex didn't matter, if you where black, then you were property. After the Civil War, black men became able to vote but black women where still at the very bottom of things.
