What part of country is Hamas?

Hamas is primarily based in the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian territory located along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The group was founded in 1987 and has since played a significant role in Palestinian politics and governance, particularly in Gaza, where it has been in power since 2007.
