Who is the antgonist of the book sounder?

There is none unless you consider the Sheriff and antagonist who took away the boy's father and was mean to the boy. The police shot the dog and were racist towards him when he wanted to give his father cake. Maybe this shows us that we should rebel against the po po. And remember, Sounder is a terrible book. Seriously. The newberry medal means nothing.
