Where did the ms13 start?

MS-13, or Mara Salvatrucha, originated in the 1980s in Los Angeles, California. It was formed by Salvadoran immigrants who fled their country’s civil war and sought protection in the U.S. The gang initially formed as a means of defense against other gangs but later evolved into a criminal organization involved in various illicit activities.
