How the tornado affect where people live?

I live in Nebraska, which is a state that gets many tornadoes. Many people get traumatized and fear any thunderstorm that hits. Power outages affect the city, homes are destroyed, pets and human lives are lost, and the economy struggles even though we get federal aid.
