What is masterbathing?

It was the ritual bathing of the master of the household in feudal England and the elite families of Europe. When the rich needed to be cleansed, the valet would draw a hot bath and summon the trusted staff of the house to scrub and clean up the master of the house. After the bath, a vigorous toweling down, and into his PJ's, then a hot drink and off to his bed he would go.
