If you are the proud owner of a Sony CFD-ZW755 boombox, you may find yourself not wanting to replace your alarm clock. That is, you might want to set it somehow in order to make it wake you up to a morning program on the radio or to your favorite music. Luckily, this kind of boombox is configurable and can be set to function as an alarm clock.

  1. Perhaps it would be common sense, but it is important to first set the correct time. After all, you will not wake up at the right time without doing this first. To set the time, you will need to press and hold down the "Clock" button until you see the digit representing the hour flashing.
  2. Turn "Preset Time Set" until the correct hour appears, followed by pressing the key "DSPL ENT MEM." You should then see the digits representing the minutes flashing.
  3. Repeat the previous step in order to set the minutes. For example, if the time is currently 5:26, the clock should say 5:00 until you turn the button. Turning the button should set the minutes to "26."
  4. Don’t forget to press the "DPSL ENT MEM" key once more in order to properly set the time.
  5. Now you can continue with the alarm clock function. Press the "Timer" key and you should see both a clock symbol as well as the two options, "CD" or "Radio," come up and flash.
  6. First, pick "Preset Time Set" followed by the source to which you wish to wake up. If you want to wake up to a CD, you should insert it before heading off to sleep. Alternatively, you should tune the radio so that it is set to the station you wish to wake up to.
  7. Press the key "DPSL ENT MEM."
  8. Now you can key in the time you want the music to turn on. Like setting the time, turn the "Preset Time Set" and "DSL ENT MEM" as necessary.
  9. You are now given the option to set a time limit for the music to play.
  10. You won’t be able to hear the alarm if the volume is too low, so be sure to set the volume range using the same controls as before.
  11. Press "Standby," upon which you will see an alarm symbol flashing before the boombox turns itself off. When it is time, it will power itself on and play the music you specified.
