An illegal act is illegal no matter where you do it. Your own home does not give you immunity from prosecution if caught. Here are some other examples of illegal acts that occur in homes across the US, crimes for which a person can be arrested, jailed, tried, fined, and sent to prison if found guilty:
- use of any illegal drug
- manufacture or sale of any illegal drug
- providing a minor drugs or alcohol, even if you are the parent
- promoting or encouraging a minor to do an illegal act (such as fight another minor in your backyard)
- letting a child be in control of a motor vehicle on your property especially if it results in injury, death, or damage
- domestic violence with or without a weapon
- brandishing a weapon to threaten another person
- making threats against someone over the phone
- harassing someone via the telephone
- extortion attempts
- printing fake money
- mailing a letter or form from your home (or elsewhere) in which you lie to the government so you get money or benefits (wire fraud)
- making a false police report even inside your home
- interfering with official business (example: interference with a Search Warrant on your home or business)
- an attempt to or actually murdering someone ...even in your home
- etc.
* As people read this, the response might be "Of course that is illegal." There is no difference between the legalities of any of these examples and cocaine.... they are all illegal, no matter where you do it.
