From the books I have read gross and involves weird characters but they are all amazing books!!!
AnswerStephen King is a Master of Horror and the Macabre, not all of his work is in horror, he has also written a non-fiction novel. Some of his work is classified as fiction, "The Shawshank Redemption" is one that became a movie.Master of Horror is a good description, but it does not give a thorough explanation. In some instances, he combines fantasy, horror, and Science Fiction. The Green Mile and the Shawshank Redemption are not horror, and Eyes of the Dragon is even something of a fairy tale. He does include a great deal of gore and strangeness, and also plays on everyone's basic and common fears, such as biological warfare mistakes and nuclear war. Many of his books have ties to others he has written, and the Dark Tower books have mentions of many of his characters from other novels. His style is very diverse, but the general public still refers to him as a horror writer.
With "Under the Dome", he has even gone to a slightly political ground. It basically lays out a terrible scenario of how terrifying things can get when the wrong people are in power with no higher authority and no consequences for their actions.
