what's the relationship between your girlfriend and her grandmother? is the grandmother acting as a negative controlling interest that your girlfriend resents and and therefore your girlfriend seeks independence? or is the grandmother a positive protecting influence that your girlfriend respects and thus values greatly? you should consider your own behavior and make sure that you're not acting, speaking, or living in a way that would give the grandmother sound reason to act against you. remember, that reasonable doubt is a legal force that can be brought to bear when it is suspected that one person could be acting in an unacceptable way.

does the grandmother think that you are somehow presenting a threat to her granddaughter? if so, then i would carefully consider the source of that suspicion and wonder what i could do to improve the situation. if on the other hand, this grandmother is simply paranoid due to an unfortunate mental health condition, then you have every reason to seek the aid of other family members or community experts in resolving this situation.

ultimately, you can certainly seek help for yourself or the other parties involved, but it would be incredibly foolish of you to convince the girlfriend to simply create animosity between herself and her grandmother - at the very least involve other people in a communication process that ensures that the needs and concerns of all parties are equitably handled.

ask her to move in with you, duh...
