The correct false statement is. That they are very hot. Deserts are very hot but they are also cold at night.

This is partially true. For a desert to be desert it needs to see a very little amount of precipation. To the point that most plants and animals can not survuive there. There is no heat requirement not all deserts are hot. The largest desert is considered to be Antartica and obviously its not hot there.
