When was castration invented?

Neutering/castration basically means cutting the balls off. This is something humans have been doing on both animals and other humans so far back in history that it's impossible to say exactly when it was first done.

Neutering was first used in cats in 1893, and without anesthesia. In the 1930's and 40' neutering became more standard.
