Where did rule 34 originate?

It is believed that the concept of Rule 34 as we know it originated on a website called "zoomout." Pornography of the most bizarre things already existed on the internet, but the term itself appears to have come from someone on zoomout by the user name of "Electric Eggs" (his real name is apparently not known) after someone sent him pornography of the comic Calvin and Hobbes. Electric Eggs, who co-owned a webcomic posted a strip showing his reaction along with the caption "Rule # 34: There is porn of it. No exceptions."
