How Voges-proskauer test run too late or too early?

The Voges-Proskauer (VP) test is designed to detect acetoin production from glucose fermentation. If the test is run too early, the bacteria may not have had sufficient time to produce acetoin, leading to a false-negative result. Conversely, running the test too late may result in the degradation of acetoin or other metabolic products, which can also yield inaccurate results.
