Is amsoil worth the cost

absolutely because it is better than the rest. maybe not for a car with 200k, but when i use it in my atv and chainsaw they doesn't smoke anymore. i swear by the stuff. they have oil for engines that goes longer between changes thus saving you money in the long run.
